I didn't go to the library for my usual volunteering this week, because Mom's schedule for her radiation treatments got rearranged for Thanksgiving. Which meant I didn't pick up a new book to read, and I finished the one I had on Thanksgiving morning, and the library won't open again until Tuesday. Oh noes! Reading emergency!
So I decided to download the Kindle iPhone/iPod touch app, and pick up an ebook to read. I got Simon R. Green's Hex and the City, next book in the Nightside series that I'm working my way through. Finished reading it this morning.
Pros:
Fresh unread books available online any time of the day or night!
Reasonably priced for backlist: Hex and the City was $6.39, equivalent to a paperback.
It's pretty readable, backlit screen, crisp black type on white background, can be read in portrait or landscape by turning the device. One tap removes all the controls so that the page fills the whole screen.
Cons:
I prefer not to spend money on books I'm only going to read once, if I can get them from the library.
The backlit screen is sometimes a little too bright, and can cause eyestrain if you stare at it long enough in low light.
The screen is pretty tiny. I end up "turning pages" every five seconds or so, which is kind of distracting, and makes it hard to really sink into the story. Plus, if you're as fumble-fingered as I am, you're skipping pages or not quite turning them or turning back instead of forward fairly often. I am nowhere near as clumsy with paper books, although I do drop them and lose my place now and then!
Conclusion:
It's great for Reading Emergencies, but in general, I'll stick to the library and paper books. I'm sure I've got unread books lying around here that I can use until I can get back to the library.

If I have a Paypal account and I want to sell some stuff, I know they take a percentage. But do I have to notify them or anything, or will they just know on their own because people indicate the transaction when they are paying. I don't think I need a separate account from the one I use for paying, do I?

Rating: PG-13
Author's Notes: I feel that love encompasses a lot of things, and for me, before all the lovey-dovey stuff and the gooey romantic stuff, Ichigo and Tatsuki are friends first and foremost. I just wanted to provide a different take on the "Tatsuki loves Ichigo" and "Tatsuki is a lesbian" motif that runs through fandom. I apologize for nothing except OOC-ness if there is any.
( I know what Tatsuki is going to say before she says it. )
